  •  Pretty obvious he isn't a bright man (19+ / 0-)

Let's just say that had he been born in the same circumstances as, say, me, he would never have made fortune.

The more these "financial wizards" have the light of scrutiny shined on them, the less impressive they are.  It's a system they rigged for themselves

Romney's incoherence on literally every subject only furthers this point for me.

business.  The looters and pillagers like Romney and Bain use limited partnerships and investor money to destroy successful businesses.  Takes no brains to do that.

    •  I know someone who worked for him (6+ / 0-)

many years ago at Bain. She swears that he's very, very bright.  And he may be, when focused on the particular skills necessary to run a private equity business.  But the man has absolutely no political intelligence. None.

      •  Good at strategizing rules (1+ / 0-)

I have no doubt he is really, really good at strategizing given rules. He can figure out a complex system of rules, and map out the best actions to bring his side success. Thus, he can figure out how to structure complex business deals, and how to use the tax code to his advantage to avoid taxes.

That is a real skill, and most people don't have it.

However, the guy is terrible at people skills. He's tone deaf. He has anti-charisma.

        •  It's not just that (0+ / 0-)

he obviously doesn't understand the world. Not just OUR world, where you have bills every month and emergencies that strain your finances, and where a medical emergency can wipe you out.

THE world - the world of physical things, with cause and effect, gravity, mass, heat, light, a sun that rises in the east and sets in the west... that world.

If he DID, he wouldn't have made that airplane remark.

You know what I want to see? I want to see Mitt on 'are you smarter than a 5th grader?'

          Because he's not.

      •  I think he has Asperger's Syndrome (0+ / 0-)

Most people with Asperger's are high functioning, particularly with numbers, but have a very hard time picking up social cues, hence the myriad "awkward situations" he constantly creates for himself.

Mormon's probably don't believe it exists, and just think it's "Mitt being Mitt."
