    I thought we were reality-based:

Furthermore, if polling is showing Arizona in play, I wouldn't be surprised to see Georgia and maybe South Carolina far behind. It could mean the dam is about to burst.
South Carolina is the last refuge of the hopeless racists. Newt Gingrich won the SC-GOP primary with "Food Stamp President." I hope you know something about South Carolina that I don't.

If Obama wins South Carolina, the Republican party will finally learn the meaning of shame. They will have no choice but to confess their epic incompetance. I so hope it happens.

It would be amazing for sure, but you're right it's unlikely unless this is a wave election...

in which case, I'd be much more interested in how many House seats we can acquire.

For this reason, I think AZ is a headfake.  And I think team Rmoney/Rove is gonna take the bait.

Also the home-state powerbase of UT for Rmoney would be diluted if they're forced to play defense in AZ, but not that much - what, they'd go to NV, MT or CO? NM, ID and OR are likely out of play.

      •  I live in East Tennessee, and as I understand it, (0+ / 0-)

all our phone banks are dedicated to making calls into North Carolina.

Yes, I understand that it's tactically shrewd. It's certainly the way I'd play it if I wanted to win the election. At the same time, can I confess, I miss Howard Dean? Tennessee is not so far off the ledge that it's gone forever. Remember Al Gore? Tennessee could be blue again, but not if we spend all our time making calls into North Carolina.
