  •  Don't make me direct you (6+ / 0-)

to thousands of YouTube videos of morons scorching their arses. Farts are indeed flammable. Sigh--wikilinks

Of course there are many theories as to how dragon's breath is ignited. I can't see the flinty tooth sparking theories working for the butt end of the beast.

    Maybe--

Hmm... just came up with a band name: "Flinty Sphincter"

    •  Oh, I'm gonna call you out on this one. (0+ / 0-)

      Prove it, skippy!

      Errrr...I mean Marko...

Nothing worth noting at the moment.

        •  Naaaa. (0+ / 0-)

That's not proof.  That could have been pre-emission of butane from the lighter before ignition, creating a cloud of combustible gas before the spark ignited everything.

Not convincing I'm afraid.  And not even remotely related to the digestive biochemistry of dragons, which is hopefully different than that of humans.

Nothing worth noting at the moment.

That would have looked completely different. The flame was in place and stable before the cloud appeared and ignited.

This is like arguing with a Romney supporter.

I'll take my farts where they're appreciated...

Although there is little scientific discourse on the combustive properties of flatus, there are many anecdotal accounts of flatus ignition...
Until I see a peer review paper from a reputable journal on the topic, it's still an urban myth!

Nothing worth noting at the moment.
