  •  I really freak out (4+ / 0-)

    anytime a candidate goes OVERSEAS to fundraise.

    I don't care who it is.

    There aren't THAT many Americans living there, and it just looks really, really bad.

    Besides that, it's WAY too easy for foreigners to just give some money to some American there and funnel it to the campaign.

    And since the candidate is there, the person doing the funneling can be sure to let them know. Maybe not directly, but you know they'l make it clear.

      But they are not like Americans in other countries;

      There were estimated to be 60,000 Americans in Hong Kong as of 2009.[1] They consist of both native-born Americans of various ethnic backgrounds, including Chinese Americans, as well as former Hong Kong emigrants to the United States who returned after gaining American citizenship. Most Americans in Hong Kong are not permanent residents and continue to hold single citizenship. Many come to Hong Kong on work assignments; a few also study at local universities.[citation needed] They are a major part of the larger community of Americans in China.
      But I think Romney is gunning for the Chinese rich to fork over (chopstick over?) contributions.

      By the way, the Chinese did invent the fork;

      Fork: The fork had been used in China long before the chopstick; a bone fork has been discovered by archaeologists at a burial site of the early Bronze Age Qijia culture (2400 – 1900 BC), and forks have been found in tombs of the Shang Dynasty (c. 1600 – c. 1050 BC) and subsequent Chinese dynasties.[70]
