Romney claimed the 47% of people not paying income taxes are a lock-in to vote for Obama. That's where he went wrong. The highest proportions of non-income-tax payers are in the Deep South. The majority of them are white — core Romney voters.

Look, when Romney runs ads appealing to those out of work, do you think those are aimed to people currently paying income taxes? If everyone not paying income taxes were a lock in for Obama, plus all those of us who do pay income taxes who will vote for Obama, then Obama would be set to win north of 75% of the vote.

Romney gets more of the vote from whites without college education, on average. Those same people comprise a clear majority of those not paying income tax. If there are "makers and takers" the takers are the Romney voters — whether at the top, with Romney and the Kochs, or at the bottom, with the Tea Party.

Romney may win them in the South and in Appalachia, but he does not in industrial Midwest -  why do you think he is losing OH (and PA and MI)?
