    ... move back to France... inherit relative's vineyard etc... not all that strange.

    Lots of that international mixing these days... how many raised in the US people return to India or someplace in Latin America or China or anywhere... US accent and all

        really French first names with French spellings, Jean Marie, Hercule, Claude, Henri... and like that... just kept the French surnames...

        and then a bit more recently there was a  large group of French protestants... the Huguenots who had to flee France at the end of the 17 century...  but even they had all gone British or Irish etc by the time the Star Trek future shows up...

        so was thinking the fictional details of Captain Picard would would involve a more recent transplantation... to explain the "Jean-Luc" part...
