  •  Is 40R-31D accurate? seems a bit heavy for Rs in a (0+ / 0-)

    swing state.

Iowa lost a House seat, so it had to redraw lines, which in IA is done on a non-partisan basis.

King's old district was very heavily Republican.

The parts that he did not represent before were represented by Tom Latham, a somewhat more sensible Republican.

Thus that is probably a fair representation of previous registration

both the Vilsack campaign and the Obama campaign are working very hard to register Iowa State students.

One good thing about that -  registration in Iowa stays open until October 27.  Not quite same day as in MN or no registration which is effectively what you have in ND, but still pretty good.

    •  Registration Figures (0+ / 0-)

The latest (September 2012) registration figures for the district are 126,640 D (27%); 180,297 R (38%); and 167,796 No Party. The No Party probably break similar to the D and R numbers.
