pointing out why in part the song appeals to me, on two levels

      1  I remember the event

2  the singer of the song was someone I knew slightly years ago, and as a result, is someone whose career I have followed closely

the hootenanies (there were two, Don sang at the 2nd) were organized by two of my high school classmates, Bob Morrow and John Emelin, who performed as the Muscatel Marauders.  John later briefly led a group called Lothar and the Hand People, and I actually saw him perform in the Village in the 1960s, I think 1968.

It was obvious even in 1963 how gifted Don was.  None of the rest of us on that stage that night were in his class.

My major contribution to that 2nd hootenany is that a lot of us from the Mamaroneck High School chorus were there, so we got up on stage and I led a performance of Elijah Rock, one of the things we had been singing.

It was a bit frustrating to be that close to Clear Lake and not have the opportunity to make the pilgrimage.

I wrote the comment to which you object in response to a comment by someone else which mentally took me back.

      Sorry you misinterpret it.
