  •  negative-spin from the DNC re debates, here: (0+ / 0-)

This is also what dKos should be doing, imho, in preparation for the debates:

Democratic National Committee predicts Romney will win first debate vs. Obama

It's a further lowering of expectations ahead of the first debate in Denver next week. Democratic National Committee spokesman Brad Woodhouse tells Fox News he thinks Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will win.

    Woodhouse makes the following points:
    * challengers win the first debate, against incumbents.
    * Obama has not debated in four years.
    * Obama is not known for 60-90 second sound-bites, which is what 'debates' are about.
    * Rmoney has had a lot more time to prep.
    * Obama is lucky if he gets 3 consecutive hours to prep.
    * Rmoney is a very good debater, who 'dispatched Newt Gingrich' -- who is also a great debater.
    * Romney shines during debates, especially when he is backed into a corner (like he was in the primary, and like he is now).

Be prepared for an 'upset victory' declared by the media -- a close race is what they want, if for no other reason than they have huge financial interests in doing so (especially TV pundits -- TV ads are by far the biggest expense of any national campaign).
