But most importantly, Democrats didn't sit out 2010.

Galston is mostly full of crap. When in individual races, the total vote for the GOP candidate stays the same from '08 to '10 while 30% of the vote for the Democratic candidate just vaporizes, the conclusion is the Dems stayed home. This was true in every single district in Minnesota except for one. In DFL cases, the DFL candidate won anyway, except for Jim Oberstar being beaten by Chip Cravaack (spit).

30% of Dem voters staying home results in the ideological shift that he describes.

The other conclusion is that the GOP has a certain lump of voters that they can't exceed. This tells me that at least in MN, the DFL seats are safe, and Cravaack (spit) is likely to lose. Bonus - Bachmann is in big trouble, too, as the DFL candidate Jim Graves got on everyone's radar early and convinced the Independence Party to run no one there. That didn't happen in '08 - when did Bachmann flap her yap over Dems being disloyal and cause everyone to look up who then-unfunded Elwyn Tinklenburg was? Mid-October? A little late. And Bachmann never actually gets a majority, thanks to the presence of the Independence Party.

Many of those voting are neither Democrats nor Republicans, so when left-leaning independents sit out, then you get the numbers reported.

Seriously, you believe only Democrats cast votes for Democrats?

I said that of the Dem candidate's votes, 30% vaporized, while none of the GOP's votes did. That's just fact.

Is it always your habit to ignore what everyone else says  while shouting your own talking points? Your talking points are crap.

Way to include those "left leaning independents." It's not like they were really swing voters (read: morons) which are a really small part of the electorate. They were people who voted Democratic but usually leave the primaries up to someone else.

Seriously, you argue in bad faith when you try to put words in my mouth the way you do.
