She might benefit from it, although maybe this defense mechanism is working for her (and other Akin fans with similar stories). People deal with guilt in a variety of ways, and one of the most common is to blame it on someone else. This is one reason malpractice insurance is so expensive for abortion providers: guilt is the elephant in the room, and it often gets externalized onto providers.

Many women who choose abortion for excellent reasons feel horribly guilty about it. I used to defuse this in some cases by offering to show them the "tissue" (routinely inspected to ascertain completeness). When I would point out the teensy little speck of an embryo, hard to discern in the mass of placenta and uterine lining, many patients seemed to feel enormous relief. I suspect "Governer Ultrasound" in Virginia doesn't realize that his odious requirement could backfire in early pregnancy.

he and our blissfully, equally idiotic AG are pods in a pea, convinced they know best for everyone, because, um, GOD! i believe they were truly stunned when so many va women rose up and threatened to (literally in some cases) to castrate them. so many sluts, so little time to send them to hell!
