    They stopped the discussion during the general election contest.

    But then unlike the Democrats, who perpetuated their general election stance around the entire election cycle, the rightwing retreated from the party and spent most of the rest of the cycle organizing independently. They went off and created their own candidates and created their own issues for the next election, came back to the party discussion during nomination time and pushed their issues and candidates into the mix.

    We've had 40 years to watch Democratic conservatives; ours are no more responsive to the people than the rightwingers are. There's nothing we can do about them either now or after the election. All we can do is elect the most Democrats possible. Starting Nov. 7th though it's time to pull back and work on replacing as much of the party as we can for the next nomination cycle.
