...tend to look for soft targets.

I rarely have to actually 'go a round' after indicating I am happy to do so.

Like the driver from "Back to School" - I'm tough, and I'm nice. :)

combative people come to parties where everybody is having a good time and start throwing elbows, and subsequent claims of the ability to be 'nice' are....let's say disingenuous.  Your challenge only reinforces that point.  I imagine if this were real life, you give me a two shoulder shove and say 'come on, puss.'  I gave a reasoned, measured critique to your concern, and you chose to raise the rhetoric, the epitome of irony considering the placement.

When you spoke of 'prominent voices' it seemed you were talking about people on DK, since this was, ostensibly, a meta diary about how we treat each other here.  This only lends further credence to my assessment that this diary isn't the place to bring this up.

Furthermore, I don't believe you.  I don't believe that all of those voices have recently said Obama is a war criminal, and I certainly don't believe that they have said voting for Obama makes you a war criminal too.

I read GG's comments re: Libya, and if 'you're a war criminal if you vote for Obama' is what you took out of them, then I hope you go back and read them again with a more sedate frame of mind and try to assess whether that really is almost exactly the message they are trying to convey, or almost exactly the message you chose to receive.

Do I, like, owe you money or something?

Because you are coming on awfully strong given we have no history that I know of.

        •  and since I said their core concerns were valid (0+ / 0-)

Yet the delivery was loaded in a post above, once you read it you will have far less grounds to pursue an policy argument that we just don't have with each other.

          •  I never raised a policy argument. (0+ / 0-)

I raised the point that, in this diary, of all places, your reaction was 'well he started it.'

The people you subsequently mentioned generally don't have the loaded delivery you claim they do.  In fact, quite the opposite.  These men tend to be sober and measured in their commentary, with the possible exception of Sirota, who I haven't read in quite some time.

What is constantly loaded is the reactions thereto.  Again, you seem to be justifying the very behavior OPOL is discussing.  You seem to be grinding an ax in an environment were everybody else is putting down their ax, if only for a moment.

I have this beef for reasons that should be self evident.  I have no idea why a personal history would make a difference.  As to nobody else having a problem, I imagine that has more to do with a combination of popularity and others not yield their ax here, deserved or not.
