diaries and comments after the 2008 election that the Republican party was finished and was out of the majority forever.  Then came 2010.

The Republicans are very good at stirring up fear and emotional issues to win elections, and I would suggest that white people are not the only people that can fall for this kind of crap.

I hope you're right, but too many years of watching election returns has fed my cynicysm to the point that I'll believe it when I see it

White voters haven't been scorned, discriminated against in laws and words and harrassed in their daily lives by Republican policies. They haven't had to live seeing their children going through the same shit their grandparents went through long ago. I think (and I'm a brown man) that it will be hard for the GOP to bullshit minorities into believing their bullshit and switch parties.

And as I explained below 2010 was a local congressional district election. Which is far different than a national Presidential election. IMO, this is about their last chance in national elections unless they change a bunch of their policies and do something concrete to convince a more diverse electorate that they've changed. But, if they change can they keep the teabaggers and their ilk in the fold.

America could have chosen to be the worlds doctor, or grocer. We choose instead to be her policeman. pity
