Where are the incredibly stiff penalties for employers who employ undocumented workers? So long as people can hire cheap undocumented workers with impunity, they're going to do that, keep abusing those workers, and keep taxing the state services.

Last I checked, when WalMart got busted for hiring undocumented workers and working them non-stop, they got a very very tiny slap on the wrist and a promise they would no longer be subject to normal enforcement activities.

      Under title IV:

"The Department of Labor will have new authority to conduct random audits of employers and ensure compliance with labor laws; also includes new worker protections and enhanced fines for illegal employment practices"

Not that it really answers the question. I'd hope McCain would get more into this than simply "enhanced fines".

Whatever is wrong, it is never as bad as being poked in the eye with a sharp stick. Unless of course, you were just poked in the eye with a sharp stick.

...wasn't what was available under the law. Which is a part of the problem Congress probably can't fix -- selective enforcement.
