  •  Mmmm, how can you overlook the recent (10+ / 0-)

trade deal, the unlawful use of drones against American citizens, the HUGE industrial spy complex being built in our nation's heartland, his unwillingness to prosecute white collar criminals, his unwillingness to prosecute war crimes criminals, the Keystone XL Pipeline...those are just a few of his policies that are in direct conflict with progressive values.

Either his actions support his words, or his progressive spiel is just an act.

Only ideologues support individuals over policies. They choose to follow a leader blindly, and all leaders are very fallible.

I will vote for Obama this time, unlike most of my progressive friends who are refusing to support him. But I hope he doesn't let us down again.

    •  praenomen - I am familiar with all of the (0+ / 0-)

items you mentioned except the "HUGE industrial spy complex". What's that?

      "let's talk about that"

      •  It might be a reference to the huge NSA (10+ / 0-)

complex being built in Utah. Or just a general reference to all of the warrantless wiretapping that's been implemented in the last decade (and which has continued to accelerate under the Obama administration). Or a reference to the explosion in orders for drone aircraft.

The disappointing part is that there are so many things that he could be referring to.

Would it not be be simpler, if the government simply dissolved the people and elected another? Bertolt Brecht

      •  You've got to be kidding (5+ / 0-)

You never heard about this? Seriously?

Drones over America bought & paid for by DHS. TSA and DHS ignoring court rulings and getting away with it. Sweetheart deals for airport scanners that don't serve any purpose other than security theater. A huge increase in the number of cameras placed in puclic places and monitored by nameless, faceless bureaucrats (like NYC). Non-repudiation of the Bush-era domestic eavesdropping programs; nay, their expansion.

Un-freaking believable that people don't know about this shit. It's not CT, it's not paranoia. It's real, and it's happening now and nobody is doing dick to stop it.
