    That is a true statement, but my question is why is this necessary?  You have a Bill of Rights, and Courts capable of striking down bills which violate same.  Why do you need a strong man in a high office looking down on the people's representatives and telling them where they may and may not legislate?

    It's true that the Executive may use the veto to defend the interests of the little people, but what is his/her incentive to do so?  Isn't it much more likely s/he uses the veto where it is in the Executive's interest?
