  •  Great agenda. (16+ / 0-)

How do we get the President on board with it?  Don't get me wrong, Romney-Ryan is a disaster and would be for the American people.  But I don't think the President is fully on board with these ideas.  His ideas my not be as bad as Romney-Ryan but they aren't these as far as I can tell.

    •  Too many of our democratic candidates (9+ / 0-)

talk about progressive ideas during the campaign, but when they're elected, turn into neoliberal corporate puppets.

(mostly vague talk) about things the people really need to be addressed, like health 'care' (not insurance policies) for all, New Deal approach to rebuilding the infrastructure of the country (greening the grid), stopping the wars (and not just replacing soldiers with mercenaries), acting on the biggest threat to everyone from our over-heating climate, and so many other things the public has been arguing for that gets attention only during elections. Only then does it seem to infect those running for office as they show their concern for the photo op baby of public concerns.

It's like the entire voting public is one big baby being kissed for the cameras. Then right after election flu season the sniffles are gone, talk is in somber tones, and basic needs are unimportant because the baby has disappeared from view.
