  •  the FreePress article is outdated and erroneous (0+ / 0-)

Not only do they fail to notice that Washington votes entirely by mail (and has done so since 2009), Bello and Fitrakis also state that voting is carried out on Hart Interactive eSlate and ePollBook machines.

They are correct about the former, still used in some WA counties for ADA compliance. The eSlate is, in fact, a DRE, but only a few hundred people vote that way in Washington.

But the ePollBook isn't a voting machine! It's basically an combination of pollbook (list of registered voters) and ballot-accounting system -- used by pollworkers, not voters. As such, it is utterly irrelevant in WA. And even in states with actual polling places, nobody whatsoever votes on an ePollBook.

Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. -- K.Marx A.Lincoln
