    It is essential in the US to untie heath care from employment. That is an old slave model -- with all the same outcomes. Instead, pay people more and let them buy their own.

    Once Americans are all united on the same page -- they might actually form a functioning government for the benefit of the people.

      The people who are losing their health insurance are being given a stipend that may cover half the cost of health insurance on the private market.

      Now that hardly anyone has real pensions (and so many people have lost their savings, especially 401K plans), the fact that pensions are going away is being used as a reason to just eliminate the benefit. But at the same time elimination of Social Security and Medicare is seriously being discussed.

      We're a long way from turning this around.
