I've always said it, if you want to know what kind of person someone is, put them around little kids or dogs and see how they react to them! Never fails.

I also appreciate the President's calmness and the deliberate and thoughtful manner in which he handles crises of all kinds. I'm very confident in his ability to handle that 3 am call and act in a swift, decisive manner if necessary, but I'm just as confident that he won't go all cowboy on us and go with his gut. Or rattle his sabers against Iran just because Bibi wants him too. I know without question if Romney were to win we'd be at war with Iran.

think what a Romney presidency would be like. I am sure we would crank up the Third World War machine on day 2.

I was born in Tacoma Park, I live in Annapolis now. Both really lovely areas of MD.

President Baby Whisperer is one of those rare adults who has a kind of magical rapport with kids, they are just irresistably drawn to him and he appreciates the just how amazing and magical these little creatures are. My mother had a 1st cousin she was raised with like a sister who was like that. Carole was simply magical herself, no other word to describe her and she was like my mother of the soul. I guess that's another reason I'm so drawn to these photo's of the President and kids. It reminds me of all of us cousins and the neighborhood kids with Carole.

it's blue---we have the first female, openly gay mayor in the country, but Texas is...red.

Dallas is blue too, also, as well.

fled back to my native home of birth in 1998, I can tell you that NoVA (Northern Virginia) was solidly blue and then there was the rest of Virginia, substainstially redder and redneck but it wasn't until the late 90's that i started to see the early onset of of the Tea Baggers.

But I laughed at them, because what they didn't realize is that that blue NoVA creep was going to start bleeding blue all the way don 95 south once they began the expansion of the Metro red line fsom Springfiled to The marine base at Quantico and then right on into Richmond. That started a couple of years ago and it's been gratifying to see the blue creep in exacly where I thought it would.

Maybe Austin can have spme of that effect in Texas. Houston's a large city. There's got to be a way to try to bring some of these red countire or towns for red to at least purple,
