  •  Ouch. Just, ouch. (4+ / 0-)
Both Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis belong to unions that have won them the most fantastic salaries on the planet. When asked why they would agree to make a movie that bashes teachers and their unions . . . crickets. I hope they were paid royally for betraying their unionized teacher-sisters because I won't be paying to see them act again.
It's likely begun to sink with Gyllenhaal and Davis that they've made a colossal mistake. As Leonard Nimoy hasn't been able to shake "Mr. Spock" in the decades since the last new episode of Star Trek aired, Gyllenhaal and Davis are just now getting the sinking feeling their careers may not recover from this RW turd soon, if at all.

I've appreciated Maggie Gyllenhaal in other movies I've seen her in. She's talented, and I've really liked that she wasn't conventionally beautiful physically. But women in Hollywood don't last long (unless your name is Meryl Streep, that is). By the time this has blown over, Gyllenhaal may not be getting a lot of new parts, anyway.

It's here they got the range/ and the machinery for change/ and it's here they got the spiritual thirst. --Leonard Cohen
