  •  The Republicans' supporters' signs (10+ / 0-)

are a hoot.  "We" built that.  Well, yes, that was the president's entire message:  together we built that.  Of course it would look pretty funny for the signs to say "I built that (all by myself)."

    •  It was also funny that before every (9+ / 0-)

speaker on "I did build it" day at the RNC finished his/her speech, someone had written here that each one built their business with a government loan or contract . . . exactly proving Obama's point and punching a big hole in their own.

      •  Here's the trap Rmoney has set for himself, and (4+ / 0-)

how Obama can force him into it.

        The President speaking:

Governor Romney, last weekend your running mate Paul Ryan said on Fox News that according to your tax overhaul plan, any windfall the wealthiest Americans would receive would be balanced exactly by the closing of deduction loop holes.

First of all, do you agree with this statement?  If so, then please explain to the American people why you are advocating a large, 20% tax cut to people you call “job creators” if they will still be paying the same amount in taxes because of the loss of deductions?   If there is no net tax benefit to the people you call “job creators” then what’s the point of making the change you propose to the tax code?

But if you don’t agree with Congressman Ryan’s explanation from last Sunday, if you do in fact believe that your 20% tax cut on “job creators” will not be entirely offset by the closing of deduction loopholes, but will supply them with the trillions of dollars needed for "job creation", then you are either punching a multi-trillion dollar hole in an already seriously cock-eyed balance sheet or else you plan to extract those trillions from middle and low income taxpayers.

So please explain to the American people which scenario you intend to pursue.  We’ve heard a lot from your camp about your plans for cutting taxes while also cutting the deficit, and now I think it is high time you show the American taxpayer the math that will allow you to arrive at your objective.  Nobody I know who has tackled this problem has been able to get your numbers to work, so we’re all eager to hear how you would do it.

The logical disconnect between the message that the republicans were trying to promote and the grammatical challenge that the signs held by individuals posed was too much for even logic challenged Americans...
