had Romney helping people outside of his family or social circle.  Like in MA, while campaigning for governor, he discovered a VA hospital was short of milk for patients meals.  The VA hospital then received anonymous donations of milk for two years, at which point governor Romney signed legislation that fixed the problems.  Only then did the VA hospital learn that it was Romney who was donating the supplies.  So it definitely wasn't a PR stunt, he did it because some part of him wanted to do good with his lucre.

Also, I've noticed a lot of people here on dKos defending Obama's HCR.  Many don't seem to notice the cognitive dissonance required to praise Obama's reform efforts while vilifying Romney.  After all, HCR is based on Romney's MA plan, which was the first universal health care plan of any state (or one of the first?).  If Obama deserves praise for the HCR act, then surely Romney deserves praise for doing the same damn thing in MA.

All I'm saying is that Romney isn't all evil.  He does care about people (sometimes) and he seems to want to help people (sometimes).  Most likely, his wingnutty campaign results from his cowardice, and probably his economic ideas as well.  It takes a strong and honest person to admit that their entire fortune is the result of an immoral financial system.

I ask because Romney isn't vilified for inventing Obamacare. Not here, anyway -- maybe over on Red State, perhaps?

Here, he's vilified for inventing Obamacare and occasionally even saying he's proud of it and saying he wants to repeal it. Now, that is cognitive dissonance for you.
