    When the ACA completely kicks in in 2014, your daughter can keep whatever insurance she has. And it will be her policy, not attached to an employer. The only difficulty she will have is if she moves to another state. But, in that case, she wouldn't have the same doctors or facilities anyway.

      if she keeps it. My point is that under the ACA her only option for financial relief is to sign up for employer's plan.

        my daughter would qualify for a subsidy if access to other avenues for coverage (eg Medicaid, employer-sponsored health plan) weren't an exclusion. If her employer offered no health plan, she could keep all her doctors and her cancer care center, etc, while getting a tax credit (subsidy) for a substantial portion of the cost of her current insurance.
