Marquette University Law School's latest poll shows that Democrat Tammy Baldwin has a 4-point lead over Republican Tommy Thompson in the U.S. Senate race, but her advantage has narrowed.

The Marquette poll shows Baldwin leading by 48% to 44%. That compares to Baldwin's 50% to 41% lead in the last poll released on Sept. 19. The poll on Aug. 22 showed the opposite: Former governor Thompson was leading Baldwin by a 50% to 41% advantage.

The latest poll was taken Thursday through Sunday, occurring primarily before Friday's first debate between the Baldwin and Thompson.

The poll of 894 likely voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.

The survey showed the candidates are now tied with independent voters, each garnering 43%.

a bit off, due to random sampling, for some reason, they had more Dem responses than others. He said that you could adjust it by adding 6 points to the R side. (Remember that was the one that had Obama up +14, so he said, it was more like +8) . So it is still Baldwin up 3-4 pts.
