    or conservative Democrats from rural areas.  That might explain the apparent presence of Romney/Carmona voters.

      AZ has an extremely high percentage of Independents. I think its something like 35 or 37%

        look below - It's 31%  of registered voters. Maybe 25 or 26% of Likely voters.

        If there is a big dem turnout (like 29-30% of total vote), and a reasonable Independent turnout (e.g. 27%) of total vote, then Carmona does not need to win a large percentage of Republicans.
