I agree. But where is ANY leading Democrat in front of a camera, saying, "At this rate we won't have jobs recovery for another 15 years. That's unacceptable. We have to step it up."

The Dems are cultivating the expectation that if people vote Dem, things will get better in some kind of reasonable time frame. When that doesn't happen, there will be backlash like crazy. We're seeing that already in the "stimulus failed" lie from this year's GOP. It doesn't get us anywhere, long-term, to hide the truth from the public.

you are leaving out the reality that if the economy picks up steam after obama's re-election job availability goes up and the deficit goes down sometimes amazingly fast. what we need is more government jobs, more infrastructure projects, a single payer health care system and a government subsidized pension system.....but i'll take today's news as it will help obama on 11/6 and prevent the take over of the country by ayn randians.

        ...this graph: http://www.hamiltonproject.org/...

In the best year since 1990, we averaged 321,000 jobs per month. The graph shows that if we repeated that year every year, it would still take till 2017 for us to get back to a 2007 level of employment. The odds we're gonna repeat every year the best year of the last 22 are pretty damn low.
