  •  I feel upset.. (9+ / 0-)

    I'm trying to process everything..

I got really angry at the Romney lies. He did well partly by lying.

Also, I was so used to Romney campaign screw ups like being unable to defend themselves against Bain Capital attacks, his tax returns, the 47% comments, and a very botched GOP convention and there was no way he would do that bad. People learn from their mistakes. And Pres Obama is too professional to bring all that up in a debate setting. One thing that's surprised me in this campaign is how Romney has made mistake after mistake and didn't seem to get it together.

I had to turn the TV off because CNN says "we got a horserace again" as if this changed everything...

Well, I'm telling myself Bush didn't have a good first debate with Kerry (remember the side shots) and Reagan blew his first debate with Mondale.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what Nate says. He's said in the past debates rarely affect the outcome.

that will come back to bite Romney's ass, though.  Can you imagine the ads?  Side by side - what he's said on the campaign trail vs. what he said in the debate.  It just reinforces the fact that he's wishy-washy and unreliable with no real defined plan.

He's been busy running the country, killing Bin Laden, fixing the economy, you know governing. Pres Obama hasn't had that much time for debate prep.

Romney, on the other hand has been running for president and having debates for the past 5+ years. He's had a lot of practice.

After reviewing the tape and seeing what Romney does in a debate, Obama will be more prepared to get him on the defensive. It's gonna be more important to win the last debates rather than the first one. And the last two are more favorable to Obama.

The town hall style debate could force a gaffe from Romney, he's not great at interacting with real people. And on foreign policy, Romney has no idea what he's talking about. This was clearly the highwater mark for Willard.
