  •  it WAS a defeat of tea party ideas, but the way he (0+ / 0-)

behaved- interrupting, going back and dominating with his points where a tired, annoyed Obama tried to remain patient with him- repeating and repeating repub talking points as if we ought to recognize and understand the stock answers by now- all that is tea party behavior, and I am afraid he may have actually won hearts and minds in that sector.

"Had we gone the invasion route, the US could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land." -- George H. W. Bush, "A World Transformed," 1998 memoir (explaining why the US did not occupy Iraq in the 1991 "Desert Storm" war)

Maybe people will not know that this is a 180 from where his positions have been or maybe they won't care.  But the point is, all the craziness and panic isn't going to help.  Here's what's helped.  When we are united as a party, like after the convention.

I just wish collectively that we could not lose our damn minds over every single thing.  It drives me insane that we buy into the hysteria EVERY TIME.
