Romney is that guy. You think people don't recognize that guy? He's the guy on late night TV selling carpet cleaner. He's the guy calling right in the middle of dinner to sell you something you don't want. Has anyone perhaps thought that the President sincerely and deeply thinks Romney is a toad, and was incredibly embarrassed about being on the same stage with that fool.

As I have been saying since last night, TV doesn't send the messages you think it does. The visual cortex accesses emotional centers directly. Your cognitive, analytical brain isn't in it. How you feel beats what you think. So, if you listen to a debate on the radio, you get a different impression than when you watch it on TV. I suspect that (a) Romney didn't help himself with women at all and may have hurt himself even more, and (b) the enduring impression of Romney will be an aggressive loudmouth, i.e. car salesman.

Someone should make a bumper sticker: Would you buy a used car from this man? A picture of Romney next to it.

For if there is a sin against life, it consists perhaps not so much in despairing of life as in hoping for another life and in eluding the implacable grandeur of this life. - Albert Camus
