'facts'.  I think the surprise to us was that we'd convinced ourselves that Mitt's buffoonery was eternal and he'd be a total mess.  We- and the O team- have been disabused.

for someone so shamelessly and gleefully dishonest. obama can't let him get away with it. he has to refute every lie, every time romney breathes.

        •  Which Lie does he refute... (0+ / 0-)

...when they come three to a sentence and fourteen per paragraph, all delivered at a firehose rate?  He starts refuting one and the lying fuck utters three more while asserting "na-ahhh!"

You've been ragging on the President for a couple of days. Try to restrain your inner Chris Matthews.

            •  What you are describing is an "argument"... (0+ / 0-)

              ...not a debate.

What you've been saying sounds like you'd have preferred to see the President rolling around in the mud with RMoney, the interruption and overtalking from him would have required a lot of undignified and un-presidential interruption and sharp speech from the President.

RMoney blatantly blurted out lies and assertions that were 180 degrees away from a year's worth of videotaped quotes.  The only possible means of refuting such nonsense would have required a video library to play back his nonsense, a remedy unavailable to the President.

The President had a bad night? Maybe. Seems to me like damage control under a situation which provided a variety of unpalatable choices, any of which would damage him. Pick one. Now. No props or video playback. Look unruffled while doing it.  I think he did fine.

does not mean losing ground, which is what happened. he can refute romney's lies without being petty and nasty. he did it so well against mccain that mccain turned petty and nasty. if he can't manage to shut down romney's lies he can still lose this election.
