    Take Intrade, for example. You could buy at a really low price and then sell as those "contracts" rise in value (in this case, the odds rising). So I could "buy" Romney at 7-1 in hopes of selling at say 3-1. Romney winning or losing would be irrelevant to you if that event never became a realistic scenario. You'd just wait for your best time to sell to get the highest price.
