    I'm also a teacher, although I have more than a few years to go before I can retire. I don't have much to my name at this point beyond my personal possessions: no family, no house, no property, and a small income.

    The idea of getting an RV or large trailer to be my primary residence is becoming increasingly likely. Purchasing land here is cheap, so that is a goal that is more easily accomplished here rather than elsewhere.

    We have lots of snowbirds and other migratory residents here much of the year. Even the summer is better, since I live at 4000 feet in elevation, and we're not in the true heat of the low desert. It does get hot, but it's bearable (for now).
