  •  Manchester has soured on Guinta big time here's (0+ / 0-)

why. Guinta started the whole property tax relief thing here in Manchester. His big relief came to about $42 a year per a home owner. Something the conservative Union Leader hyped as a multi-million dollar tax relief.

But this drained enormous money out of the school budget. The result of this was that in this downturn we have a Middle school in the City that has 45 kids in one math class! Even though Guinta is no longer mayor, he is getting the blame for that (think Bush getting the blame for the economy). In the past Guinta over-performed in Manchester (a very Democratic city) between that and Shea-Porter spending a lot more time campaigning here, my sense is that he is now badly UNDER-PERFORMING a generic Republican in the city. People in Manchester absolutely HATE Guinta now as they feel he used the city just as a stepping stone to higher office.

There are 3-4 diners in Manchester where if you're quite and just listen to what people are talking about you get a real sense of what's going on.  Guinta has lost the city big time.
