    The upward revisions for July and August probably mean that the actual unemployment rate dropped below 8% before September.  

    Has anyone seen a calculation of what the unemployment rates would have been in July and August if the original job figures had been in line with the revisions reported today?

    I think the ADP reports have been overlooked too; you'd think they would be more reliable, since they are based upon actual documented jobs for which ADP has to do payroll figures, rather than limited samples of employers and individuals.  But today I learned that in the past the number of jobs ADP reported was often lower than the BLS figures.  So I think nobody wanted to own the ADP report figures.
