  •  Once again, a classic example of white privilege (0+ / 0-)

Telling Native people what Native people's "issues" should be.

Thank you, great white Massachusetts liberal--for a second I thought that we could determine which issues were important to us.

from here, don't you? Daily Kos is not like other blogs where commenters slug each other in the face constantly. I see you're still here in the comments so I'll leave you a comment.

I've been here since 2004 and I've tried to educate this community along with my partner Meteor Blades (Seminole) about American Indians and our issues.

Many of us have been here a long time. We know each other in real life, we've made huge efforts to meet in person. Many of us have many friends here.

If someone reports your rude behavior to Markos he may decide to ban you. His only rule is "Don't Be a Dick." Also, the community here can ban you by giving HIDE rates, or donuts as we call them. You are not a trusted user so you can't see this rating privilege process. You are now considered HOS, which means Hide On Sight. I'm not sure you can turn this around now.

So when you post a diary next time, the people following you will hide rate you again. If you accumulate enough HRs autoban will kick in. And then you won't be able to promote your book here.

Unfortunately, your readers don't know you're Indian. I think they'd be a lot nicer if they knew. (And also, your link in your bio to your publishing website doesn't work.)

      Gyasi Ross
Gyasi Ross is a member of the Blackfeet Tribe and his family also comes from the Suquamish Tribe. He is a father, a writer, an entrepreneur and an attorney. He is a graduate of Columbia Law School, currently practices law representing tribes for Crowell Law Offices-Tribal Advocacy Group and is co-owner and Vice-President of Red Vinyl Records. His first book of short stories and poems, Don’t Know Much About Indians (but I wrote a book about us anyways) was published in August 2011 and is in its second printing. The book has made an impact in Indian Country and beyond and has received universally positive reviews. Gyasi is also a frequent contributor to Indian Country Today Media Network, and has contributed to other publications including The Seattle Times and The Huffington Post.
Finally, YOU are doing nothing to improve what non-Indians think of Indians here at Daily Kos. I wish you'd try to help us.
      •  I looked up his profile, so I did know, (0+ / 0-)

and yes I did go a little easier on him because of it. But I still think he behaved, and has been behaving, like a dick.

        If it's
        Not your body,
        Then it's
        Not your choice
        And it's
        None of your damn business!

          Indian diaries like you promised.

          Pot, kettle, black and all.

          •  I thought this was about Elizabeth Warren? (0+ / 0-)

Really, how far do you intend to stretch your objections?

And WHY do you want to reject possible allies just because you don't like the way they write?

It seems the diarist isn't the only person with an extreme case of poutrage.

but heavy on Indian issues, of which you think you can address, once again. Even though after being completely beaten down and declaring you will now stay out of our diaries, you can't help yourself, can you? You now rise up again and speak with authority. Without having any authority in Indian issues. Gyasi was easy prey for you and you pounced.

Look at how many comments you made in this diary.

A Front Pager and an American Indian tries to reason with you. You reject that. You're a lost cause. Your comment history is the record.

I would love to have you as an ally but I really sense you don't want to be one. Don't try to create a narrative that you want to be an ally. It's clear to our group that you DON'T.

              Your poutrage charge is projection.

    •  I hope you read and listen to navajo's (0+ / 0-)

comment above. This site has a large readership and could be a good place to spread your message. There exist a large group of NA members, unfortunately you have chose to fight with those who would like to be your ally. We are progressive Democrats and open to your message, but you came here bashing a good Democrat. Is she perfect..?? she is the rest of us.

I'm just a silly white plumber and have learned more about NA issues the last couple years since finding Daily Kos than previously. I had hope to see you join the others in sharing NA viewpoints, news and info. You are smart, passionate and knowledgable.

Fix your link. Follow navajo's link! You should be helping her, Meteor Blades and Aji put those articles together, not fighting with them..!!..cheeze whiz..!!

We are not broke, we are being robbed.
