    And your gargoyle ...

    and your dragon ...

I actually saw a gargoyle on Craigslist i was attracted to, but it was too costly an indulgence, and i couldn't figure out where i'd put it, even though i have all this space around me.  I don't know how it is that you put so many things everywhere and it looks SO FANTASTIC, but if i put a little something somewhere, it ends up looking weird to me.

So i try it over there.

    Nope.  Still looks funny.

So i try it over here.

Nope.  Don't like it there either.

Maybe if i try it on the other side ...

This process could go on for hours.

    It's why i can't have nice things. :)

I've accumulated this "junk" over years!!  I have to confess, I'm as much a hoarder as GUG!  LOL

But now with the expanded space, I actually have places to PUT them!!!  LOL

I know making stuff in resin makes things less cumbersome and heavy, but it just doesn't age the same.  I'm glad I picked these things up when they were still making them in cement!

Back then the cost may have seemed extreme, but these days, the cost would be three or four times over! It's ridiculous.

I'm a HORRIBLE impulse buyer when it comes to garden decor... but now I'm glad with these things, I did go ahead and bring them home.  I know I'd never find the same again.

        I'm a collector. Big difference. :-)

I found the more trees, shrubs and plants that you have, the easier it is to place treasures. As many things as I have, I don't think my yard is crowded, overdone or cluttered and I've never heard anyone say that about it either. It's because you don't see everything at once, it's like a treasure hunt, with things hidden.
My house is different though. It has a Victorian clutter and I love that look.

It was the bicycle in the garage and it was ONLY because I am storing display pedestals for the library. Okay then there's both the riding and push mower and snow blower. Okay all my garden tools and pots. Alright my tag sale items and boxes. But it's only because I don't have a garden shed!!

People repurpose them for all sorts of uses including converting them into homes. Done right it could look really cool.

I'm callling the library to come get their pedestals! I want my garage back - wait a minute - in over twenty-five years here, I have NEVER  had a car parked in it.

that I have to continue doing the pills so I guess a basement party tonight!

I am doing great. Stitches out, still lots of bruises and swelling but he wants me walking. I feel so strange with one leg shaved and not the other. I asked about mowing the yard on a riding lawnmower, the farmers market on Sat and the flea market Sunday? He said YES. I return to work on Tuesday and have that Friday off. Doctor told me when I left his office to go walking. I HATE HATE the shopping malls and haven't been to one in probably two years so that's where I went! JCrew, Banana Repubic, Brook Brothers, Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, etc. I am worn out but came home with two khakis, belt, hat, gloves, miner's head lamp (not for basement parties but to clean the dog pen), linens and candles. I think I did good and that should hold me for a few more years!!

                          •  OK wait, the riding lawnmower got a green light? (2+ / 0-)

Here's the thing ... my knees ache after i come in from mowing on the riding mower.  Granted, i'm out in the field for several hours with them bent in one position, and you may have a more speedy task to tackle.  Point being, i'm dubious about a riding mower being ok on your fresh knee.  Walking i can see cause it's movement and weight distribution and so on.  But maybe check again about being buckled up in a fixed position for a while?

                            I know.  But i worry. :)

                          •  I totally agree (2+ / 0-)

When I get off the rider, I have a hard time standing straight up and walking for the first minute. He said to kick my leg out to the sides ever so often and straighten it and to take breaks and not mow it in one sitting. It normally takes me close to two hours to do it all. I am not going to be able to push mow the dog pen and around things though. This guy is pushing me to use my leg but very carefully. He says move it or lose it. If I have any problems, he is going to send me to physical therapy. I am thrilled that he said it was okay to go to the flea market!
It's final! Tomorrow night is not only our first frost but our first freeze, down to 28 degrees. I have to concentrate on plants instead of mowing.
