  •  Um. You do understand half the cuts will... (6+ / 0-)

be coming from domestic spending, yes? Just when we should be massively increasing government spending to dig us out of continued stagnation, this would throw us backward by hundreds of billions of dollars in spending on the half of government we tend to like.

And the Pentagon made sure cuts on their side would be spread throughout 'security' spending. So expect significant cuts to veteran and troop benefits and other areas that won't peev defense contractors.

Regardless of Defense Secretary Leon Panetta's exaggerated rhetoric, the U.S. military would remain the largest military force in the world (and then some) after the scheduled budget cuts. Don't buy the propaganda. Visit

    •  bloated military spending is an obvious cut area (0+ / 0-)

when even the military is saying they have enough money you know the government is spending way way too much on the military.  Cuts to spending on defense contractors should be the only and deepest cuts and the gop should be called on rigging the cuts to only hurt US Soldiers and Veteran Benefits.
