  •  You have value (0+ / 0-)

Depression isn't letting you see that.

Another thing to consider is that the "laziness" that's stalling you and making you hate yourself, which is partly your depression, may also partly be ADD.  In adults, it can express itself as difficulty motivating yourself.

I can't even imagine how hard it must be to have a relationship that's over but you find yourself living with that person, even as she's moved on, if you haven't yet.  Though it sounds like you just about had--it's that living there is rubbing salt in the wound.  How can you heal like that?  What is this like for the kids?

I can't really give advice, given your financial situation, just moral support, and the reminder that anything that you did that would punish your ex would hurt your kids a thousand times more.  But, you know that.  And also it would hurt you, and you don't deserve that.

I would love to get some diagnosis about my "laziness."  In my own head, i vacillate btwn thinking i have some diagnosable condition and just wanting to suck it up, and do whatever i'm avoiding...or everything im avoiding.

      Blessed are the cheese-makers?!

      •  Well, (0+ / 0-)

like everyone's saying, self-diagnosis is hardly ever helpful; if you possibly, possibly can, you should talk to a professional.

Now there's a bit of a catch-22 in getting to stopping avoiding what you have to do to get a diagnosis of why you avoid things....  But you just have to jump that hedge the one, first time.
