I finally got a chance to see this debate online, seeing as I'm in Portugal and in a different time zone (and also had a work deadline). Yes, Obama sucked, but no worse than Bush in 2004, who temporarily lost the lead after his bewildered performance in the first debate.

With the economic numbers that came out yesterday and today's CBO report with a reduction in the deficit, I'd be surprised if people embrace the unlikable frontman and extremist agenda of the GOP. Making that kind of drastic turn to the right is more likely with the kind of economic meltdown, foreign threat, or social upheaval that just doesn't exist.

Or maybe it's just because I'm in Portugal and don't see all hell breaking loose in the US right now.

boost, this election would have been called the day after the Dem Convention.

Mitt hasn't had a plan and didn't put forth a plan in that debate.  He won on style but not substance.  27 distorted statements that alter or flat change his campaign platform.  We're only four years removed from a lying administration...why Mitt thinks he can push the same failed agenda while lying even more, and win...that is a mystery to me.  If Obama doesn't exceed his electoral win from 08 I'd be absolutely shocked.

Not to mention we have the ground game and the so-called enthusiasm gap is a false meme because Obama's supporters see way too much of GWB in the Mittster...and we want to move forward and never go back.

      Nah. Not yet.

Lots of folks know that Obama is fighting an uphill battle and they're trying to be patient. Remember that something like 2/3 of the people in polls blame the economic woes on Bush.

      We're hanging in there. :-)
