  •  You are assuming that all the people who watched (5+ / 0-)

the debate are high functioning voters who already know the score.

If some people who are undecided and living in a cave tuned into this debate--that would have confused the hell out of them.

Obama's silence on some things is rather confusing. He doesn't have to resort to cheap theatrics to simply tell the truth.

But he does need to take some actions in order to stand out from the cheap theatrics used by his opponent. The key one being LYING THROUGH ONE'S TEETH.

If I knew nothing of either candidate, I would have been thoroughly confused and thought both candidates looked like corporate clones in terms of policy.

    That's the problem.

enough in my response, and I'm a political junkie.  I used the two sites to brush up --- as my debate prep --- because we can't depend on just mass media.     Person to person sales is often most effective.

It is OUR government.  We ARE the government.  Government is only bad when we fail to do our job as citizens.

Part of that job is to have at least a few facts at the ready when the lies are spoken in our presence.   It is our duty to help our fellow citizens find the truth.     Besides, it really cheered me up to review all the great changes ---- even though not all went as far, yet, as I would prefer.

the government runs amok, rather than working for us.

However many people are fighting exhaustion. I blame time poverty and a corporate campaign to encourage feelings of apathy and helplessness.

We are worked very hard for few benefits, and constantly under a barrage of negative crap from every conceivable form of media.

It can be difficult to break out of that for anyone.
