Does Romney even have a home in Massachusetts? He has a big lakeside home in New Hampshire and is building a big home in La Jolla in Southern California.

    •  California, and he's hosed here, too (0+ / 0-)

This afternoon I drove through a very GOP area and did not see one Rmoney sign and only one bumper sticker, on a car driven by an elderly white man.   I could only see signs for down-ticket races and local issues.   He only bothers to come upstate to visit the handful of delusional 1%ers who prop up the state GOP.

      •  Lucy - it's been a very long time since a GOP (0+ / 0-)

candidate carried California. I would guess not since Reagan. I don't think Romney has ever claimed California as his home state.

He may not care to admit it, but he spends a lot of time in La Jolla.   We know that SD is the home of the GOP, but folks in other states think CA = DFH.   That was my actual point.  Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Tax evasion works like this:  one is domiciled wherever it's cheapest.  One spends actual time where one chooses.  One may register to vote in yet another place.  One may consider one's "home" from a variety of perspectives:  born and/or raised, lived most of one's life, where one is most comfortable, the land of one's distant ancestors, etc.  One may say anything to gain an advantage.  As Pontius Pilate allegedly said, "what is truth?"
