    only lasted for that night and the millions watching.  By the next day his campaign was pulling back much of what he said and you can bet he won't be saying on the stump what he said in that debate.

      That's how the magic charm works in fairy tales. In the morning, the palace is a couple of bales of hay again. The gold turns to dried peas. And the charger and its brilliant armor are a mule pulling a rustic in an old wagon.

        And, it works both ways. There are those here who fear Obama turned his carriage irrevocably into a pumpkin, with one bad night.

        Truth is, there is no magic wand, no happily ever after, no success without failure. Although I was indeed disappointed by Obama's performance in that first debate, it seems very petulant to cling to that failure, in light of his many successes.

          people are to define, weigh, and categorize events - as if events weren't deeply lodged in countless other events, and there were a prize for being able to be correct immediately.
