it before -- sorry) a republican talking point by not opposing something that's already been agreed on: the southern section of the pipeline.

i was responding to another kossak's comment about how environmentalists' strategy of doom-&-gloom seems to have failed & how they (us) need to rethink another angle, & as far as texas is concerned, citizens there act positively giddy about anything related to oil & gas, so what do you propose we do about it??

it doesn't seem we can force texans to give up their addiction to the oil & gas industry -- in fact, they consider it to be almost a religion -- & in the face of republican obstructionism when it comes to developing some alternative to compete with the oil & gas monopoly, i'm open to your suggestions.

as for doing texans any good, sometimes it's better to give stubborn people what they want.  :)

    •  They are reacting to the jobs, that's my point (1+ / 0-)

We need to do a much better job of connecting clean energy with jobs right now. Not jobs in the future, but jobs right now.

We need to do better explaining regulations and then look like we are partnering up with companies to expedite reviews and speed up job creation.

That we let D.C. fumble on the conservative idea of cap-and-trade, tells me that we aren't getting it done even when we come to agree with the other side on a particular solution.

Shorter:clean energy=job creation, environmental regulation=job creation and encourages innovation.
