by some of the Romney/Ryan fluffers in the RW media, and it will see a fuller articulation both today (by Romney) and on Wednesday (the Issa/Chaffetz hearings). It operates like this: security issues in Benghazi during the Spring and early Summer (the subject of Wednesday's hearings) are equivalent to the 1993 attack on the WTC; the Administration and the President himself dropped-the-ball on intelligence indicating that another attack was in-the-works against the consulate in Benghazi; thus the attack on 9/11/12 in which four Americans were killed is equivalent to 9/11/01.

The logic here is akin to supposing that because the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center failed to bring down the towers, nobody need have been concerned thereafter.
The analogy fails on the facts, but what's new? The rich irony is that the Admin indicted by this analogy is Bush/Cheney, for whom all of the fp hacks/hawks advising Romney/Ryan worked.

As tragic as it was, comparing the death of handful of Americans killed overseas to 3,000 people dying, mostly in real time and on television mind you, is like comparing a single snow flake to an avalanche.
