    because it made me stop and think. I am against irresponsible use of hyperbole, too, for reasons you cite. And, upon consideration, I disagree that the diarist used the term "violation" too lightly.

    Publicly attacking somebody without the means to defend themselves is indeed a "violation." I've unfortunately been subjected to it numerous times in my life, in various contexts. It's a form of cruelty.

      a respectable public figure I would not have objected to the word usage (or, as the diarist says, picked that particular nit). But, since it's Limbaugh, whose stock in trade is offensive language, I think that taking something relative inoffensive and characterizing it this strongly tends to diminish the rest of the things (his actual verbal violation, say, of Sandra Fluke) this pustule of humanity utters.
