I thought we were talking about the South here.  And while my little island is blue because it is mostly brown, there's rednecks to the north, and rednecks to the east, and more to the west.

Bashing of the South is a needed exercise, even though it is a futile one.   Maybe once, just once, it may cause someone to question their conservative outlook.  Maybe one more example of how they have been suckered by the Three Race Card Monty game the 1% play on them will give them pause.

      Nah, who am I kidding?

to college in Michigan.  There are 'necks in every state and islands of blue in field of red.

Basically, I'm calling bullsh*t on the premise.

bashing of the South will cause some Southern liberals to question their progressive outlook, and the alliances we've made with progressives from non-Southern states.

and the sizable portion of your region that wishes to keep the flame of that hate and ignorance alive, then you probably should reevaluate your loyalties.

For the rest of this country is sick and fucking tired of being culturally, scientifically, and philosophically held hostage by the most backwards of our citizens.  To be honest, the victory of 1865 was mutilated by half measures and betrayal.

progressives have no trouble facing the history of our region. What we don't want to deal with is prejudice and stereotyping. That's not what any of us here should be doing. Maybe some people here should recognize the sizable portion of the South that want's this country to be a better place and works hard for that to happen.

doesn't make any sense. I'm talking about working together with Southern progressives (without prejudice) to make things better and you just change the subject to Union issues (and continue to stereotype). I'm sure that there are millions of Southerners that agree with your position on organized labor, but you would rather insult them than work with them.
