    ...to raise their local minimum wage to whatever they feel like. If people don't think Walmart workers should work for $8/hr, they should go to their town council or whoever and demand that minimum be raised to $10 or what have you.

    Until that time, it is silly to criticize Wal-Mart (or anyone) for doing what they are obligated to do under the law. Certainly the illegality of some actions is a problem, but that isn't really why people are upset: it's that they think Wal-Mart should pay higher wages and benefits. Ok, pass a law then. At least locally it shouldn't be hard to do, with support.
