  •  Enough with the Pollyanna. (10+ / 0-)

Obama and his people aren't 10 year olds. They went into the first nationally televised debate unprepared and overconfident. That's really only forgivable when they win in November, despite this blunder.

    •  Yes, they screwed up. (3+ / 0-)

As I have already said.  Is having confidence in an otherwise-competent human being (who we've known for many years now) to fix what ails him and do better the next time a symptom of "Pollyanna"?  Or is it a vote of confidence in our president?  He's screwed up before.  He's learned from his mistakes before.  I see no reason to doubt he'll do the same this time.

he's also had plenty of times when he did NOT learn from a screw up (I'm talking about years of thinking that the GOP would compromise on important issues with him).

So who knows how he will respond.

      •  He is also not that good of a debater. Let's face (0+ / 0-)

it. He's hesitant, searches for words and does a lot of ums and uhs.

I expect a lot more energy next time, but unlike Romney a rehearsed Romney, Obama does not give a smooth delivery and he sometimes get's long winded.

It actually did take up more time than Romney in the first debate.

I think the fact that Romney and team have been given a second chance to make a first impression is the most damaging result of the debate.

It’s the Supreme Court, stupid! Followed by: It's always the Supreme Court! Progressives will win only when we convince a majority that they, too, are Progressive.
